Malaysia’s rising star, Hakim Danish Ramli, secured a third-place podium finish in the final race of the Red Bull Rookies Cup in Misano, Italy.

Despite starting from 11th position, the 17-year-old rider showed determination, fighting his way through the pack to finish among the top three. This follows his first-ever victory just last week in Aragon, Spain.

Hakim’s performance places him sixth overall in the championship standings, 84 points behind the leader, Brian Uriarte, and 47 points behind Valentin Perrone, who currently holds third. Despite the gap, Hakim remains focused on closing the distance, with hopes of securing a step up to the Moto3 class next season.

Race 1 saw Hakim off to a slow start, initially dropping to 14th position. However, he regained his rhythm and fought his way up to 7th, ultimately finishing in 3rd after a strong late-race push. In Race 2, starting from 10th, he stayed close to the front group but found it difficult to break into the top ranks, finishing 7th.

Reflecting on the weekend, Hakim said, “In Race 1, I started slow but caught up and made it to 3rd. It was tough, but I stayed focused and pushed hard. Race 2 was challenging too, and I aimed for the podium but made a small mistake on the last lap. I’m thankful for all the support from my sponsors, family, and everyone back home in Malaysia.”

The 2024 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup concludes with Hakim in 6th overall with 139 points, as he looks ahead to future opportunities in Moto3.

Championship Standings (Top 6):

1. Alvaro Carpe (Spain) – 232 points

2. Brian Uriarte (Spain) – 230 points

3. Valentin Perrone (Argentina) – 206 points

4. Rico Salmela (Finland) – 162 points

5. Maximo Quiles (Spain) – 153 points

6. Hakim Danish (Malaysia) – 139 points
