In the ongoing MotoGP rider shuffle, VR46 and Repsol Honda are competing for Luca Marini’s signature, leaving him caught in the middle.

Repsol Honda, in need of a successor to Marc Marquez, targeted Marini, but negotiations have hit a snag.

In discussing Marini’s future, VR46 team manager Uccio Salucci expressed, “I would be happy if he stayed, but I would also be happy if he went.” Our goal is to develop Academy riders for official teams. He has a contract with us, but we won’t block it. We hope for a quick resolution.”

Marini, discussing his dreams with Honda’s Alberto Puig in Indonesia, said, “It’s my goal to join a factory team, develop the bike, and aim for victory. But with a contract, it’s complicated.”
