For events outside of Europe, there is now a span of 90 days for the Moto3 and Moto2 Category WildCard applications. While for events in Europe, the approval period has not changed which is 45 days before the event.
Instead of the usual two, there now can be three MotoGP wildcard entries. If the applications exceed the slots available, the final decision will be made by the Grand Prix Commission.
In 2024, decisions will be made according to a new protocol that takes into account the number of wild cards that have been given to factories.
In the event the applicant has been given the same number of wild card entries, the results will be based several factors. Such would include the current and early season rankings as well as the previous season’s ranking in the Constructor Championship. At the same time, the rider who occupies a lower position will be given priority.
