Chinese motorcycle brand, Benda, has already introduced a V4 engine that will be used in future models.
The V4 engine comes in two versions, 1198cc and 496cc with both expected to drive the ‘power cruiser’ machine that will be introduced by Benda soon.
Compared to the V4 engine on the Ducati Panigale, the V4 Benda’s capacity is larger – 1198cc versus 1103cc – yet the new engine produces 154hp lower power at 9,500rpm and 120Nm at 7,500rpm.
The compression ratio of the V4 engine is also lower at 11.5: 1 compared to 14: 1 on the Panigale V4 S.
However, the power strip produced by the engine is not an issue because the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer does not plan to use the engine on a ‘supersport’ machine but on a ‘power cruiser’ like the Benda LFC700 introduced last year.
Meanwhile, also stealing the spotlight is the 496cc version with a 55.2mm stroke and 53.5mm bore. It is capable of producing 57hp and 44.7Nm. Interestingly, the same compression ratio as the 1198cc version – 11.5: 1 – also applies to this engine.
