Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS), the official distributor of national motorcycles, Motosikal Dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas) is now the new exclusive distributor of Japanese motorcycle manufacturer KAWASAKI in Malaysia, following the expiration of its six -month tenure with KMSB Motors Sdn Bhd.

This transition period ends on March 31, 2022, during which EMOS has already observed, studied and fully adjusted the business operations of its technical partner, Kawasaki Motors, Ltd. (KMC) to ensure as much knowledge transfer as possible.

KMC now owns 30% equity in MODENAS with DRB-HICOM Berhad as the majority shareholder of the national motorcycle company.

Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said the company assured Kawasaki motorcycle owners that superior levels of products and customer service would be maintained even under the new management.

“Our plans include expanding operations, developing, producing and sales of Kawasaki motorcycles for its fans that will surely give our Malaysians a thrilling lifestyle.

“Modenas will also be introducing the latest models from the Kawasaki line-up and unveiling its new exclusive Kawasaki showrooms in stages.

“As such, do wait for our announcement on these exciting moments,” he said.

With larger equity in Modenas, Kawasaki will now actively participate in operations in Modenas, and not just as a shareholder. After the end of the transition period, Modenas will start assembling selected Kawasaki models and at the same time import models with larger engines to cater to a wider market.

The history of Modenas and Kawasaki dates back to their collaboration in producing the first iconic Modenas Kriss model in 1996.

Starting from there, MODENAS continues to gather loyal followers from all over the country as well as in the international market.

“Together with Modenas, we firmly believe the products that will be developed and distributed, will be able to provide our Malaysian customers with an intense and superior riding experience that they have never experienced before.

“It has always been our greatest mission to meet our customer’s expectations and satisfaction as each of our products represents the essence of what the Kawasaki brand stands for.

“Don’t lose the Kawasaki spirit and let the good times roll,” says CMO Yusaku Kashiwagi.

As an exclusive distributor, EMOS through its distributors will not only sell Kawasaki motorcycles but will also distribute spare parts and accessories in Malaysia.

In addition, EMOS will also provide customer service that covers all technical matters and recall issues.

Further for all Kawasaki motorcycle sales, spare parts and technical related service inquiries can be referred to selected Kawasaki authorized dealers.
