As speculated earlier, KTM Malaysia officially pulled the cover off the updated 2021 KTM 200 Duke for the Malaysian market. The 2021 KTM 200 Duke was launched during “The Duke Rally Night” which took place on the 27th of March 2021 at Ferry Terminal, Georgetown Penang.  The event was attended by VVIP guests, dealers and members of the KTM club.

Speaking of the bike, the all-new 2021 KTM 200 Duke gets an array of visual and mechanical updates. Given the price point and the specifications, the 2021 KTM 200 Duke is definitely a bang for your buck! Without further ado, let’s look at the new player in town.

2021 KTM 200 Duke

Starting with the aesthetics, the 2021 KTM 200 Duke gets the much-awaited next-gen “Duke” design. Similar to its elder brothers, the 200 Duke now looks more modern and aggressive.

Besides the new fairing design, the model gets a sharp headlamp and taillamp unit, a new 13.l litre fuel tank, updated seats and a new LCD instrument panel.

Underneath, the KTM 200 Duke is built around a lightweight steel lattice frame which ensures precise handling. Suspension duties are taken care of by WP front forks and WP mono-shock at the rear. Braking is done via a 300mm disc with ByBre 4-piston brake calliper up front and a 230mm disc with a single-piston brake calliper at the rear. The 2021 KTM 200 Duke also gets a single-channel BOSCH ABS as standard!

As for the powertrain, the 2021 KTM 200 Duke features a water-cooled 200cc single-cylinder engine and the power is transmitted via a 6-speed gearbox and chain final drive.

Pushing a maximum power output of 26hp (19kW), the 2021 KTM 200 Duke is the most powerful 4-stroke machine in its class.  Speaking of the 200cc mill; everything from the cylinder head, injection and exhaust have been revised to ensure reliability and performance.

Starting with the cylinder head, similar to the 1290 Super Duke R, the 4-valves are actuated by two overhead camshafts and carbon coated cam followers which is reliable and long-lasting. Moving on, the injection and the close-ratio 6-speed transmission ensures both performance and fuel efficiency. As for the exhaust, KTM says the three-chamber silencer guarantees smooth power delivery and balance.

2021 KTM 200 Duke Price in Malaysia

The 2021 KTM 200 Duke is available in Malaysia in two colour options; White and Orange with an attractive price of RM 12,888 excluding road tax, insurance and registration fee.  Interested? the 2021 KTM 200 Duke is now available at all KTM authorised dealers nationwide.
