Supercharged Bimota Tesi H2 Is Getting Ready for September Launch!

Supercharged Bimota Tesi H2 Is Getting Ready for September Launch!

Following the recent photos and videos of the Bimota Tesi H2 undergoing thorough testing, MCN reports more details on the Bimota Tesi H2 and the Bimota KB4.

Bimota Tesi H2

A few months earlier we all heard about the revival of the Italian brand Bimota. The first bike to roll out with Kawasaki and Bimota partnership is the new Bimota Tesi H2. As the name suggests, the Tesi H2 uses the same 227 hp supercharged engine from the Kawasaki Ninja H2.

We had a glimpse of the Tesi H2 undergoing circuit-testing through a few photos and videos. According to MCN’s latest report, Bimota confirms the Bimota Tesi H2 would go into production this September with a completely new paint job.

The launch was initially set for June; however, because of the COVID-19 outbreak, the launch has been pushed back. This is mainly because of the issue related to sourcing parts and the one-month shutdown the company had to go through. MCN speculates, the first 20 bikes would most probably be done by September and we think the same too.

As quoted by MCN, Bimota spokesperson Gianluca Galasso told MCN;

“For the finished bike, ready to be delivered to the customer, we need [until] September 2020.”

“For a registered bike, with the paint; now slightly different to the Eicma show – and all the production parts, we need to wait until the beginning of August,” Galasso continued. “The red is a particular formula and it changes shades in accordance to the light angle. The white is a matt pearl white.”

“We went to Magione because this is the toughest racetrack for brake tests,” Galasso said. “It is very easy to have brakes ‘fading’ due to the limited time to cool down the rotor discs and callipers.”

“Basically, the whole bike had to be tested: particularly the brakes, trail, ground clearance, height, shocks setting and few other small parts,” he added.

“We had to declare in advance the name of the Bimota workers in attendance because only they were allowed to enter in the paddock. Once there, they had to wear the masks and have their body temperature checked. The garage and the restrooms were sanitised every two hours by the authorised personnel.”

Bimota KB4 Update

On top of this, MCN also has an update on the Bimota KB4 retro sports bike that Bimota is also working on. Apparently the KB4 retro racer wouldn’t be ready until spring 2021. However, there is already a working prototype that is currently undergoing testing.

Gianluca Galasso’s comment on the KB4; “The KB4 will be ready in spring 2021. At the moment, the forecast of the Covid-19 delay is difficult to estimate; but we hope it’s around three or four months. I can tell you that the first prototype of the KB4 is really fun to ride.”
