March 26, 2020

Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the Spanish MotoGP at Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto has been postponed.

As we all know, lately most of the races in 2020 MotoGP have been getting cancelled or postponed. This is because of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak worldwide. We were looking forward to seeing the next race, the Spanish MotoGP on the 3rd May. However, because of the COVID-19 outbreak getting serious day by day, the 2020 Spanish MotoGP has been postponed.

This means the next MotoGP we would get to see is the French GP. Which is scheduled for 17th May 2020 given everything goes according to plan.

The organizers also stated the replacement date cannot be confirmed until it becomes clearer when exactly it will be possible to hold the event. Also, the revised calendar would be published soon.

The Statement

Red Bull Gran Premio de España postponed

Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the event at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto has been postponed. The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports regret to announce the postponement of the Red Bull Gran Premio de España, which was set to be held at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto from the 1st to the 3rd of May. The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has obliged the event to be rescheduled.

As the situation remains in a state of constant evolution, a new date for the Spanish GP cannot be confirmed until it becomes clearer when exactly it will be possible to hold the event. A revised calendar will be published as soon as available.
