Harley Davidson Launches the 2020 Softail Standard. Pricing starts at $13,599 in the US and comes with four dedicated accessory packages.
February 24, 2020- Harley launches the new 2020 Softail Standard motorcycle which offers the essentially Harley-Davidson cruiser experience. The Softail offers a lean bobber profile with the dynamic performance of the Harley-Davidson Softail chassis. Not to forget, the bike comes with the unrelenting power of the Milwaukee-Eight V-twin powertrain. Rolling out in classic vivid black paint with chrome and polished finishes, it presents itself in the most elemental form.
The Design
The Softail standard model comes with a solo seat which exposes the chopped rear fender and a smooth 3.5-gallon fuel tank that reveals the frame and the engine.
The all-black Milwaukee-eight 107 engine highlighted with polished rocker covers and the cylinder head fins which are not highlighted give attention to detail. On top of this, the chrome shields and mufflers on the shotgun exhaust enhance the low profile look of the Softail standard model.
The bike features classic lanced wheels (19 inches at the front and 16 inches at the rear). Both the rims have a chrome finish. At the front, the clear-coated fork sliders, polished triple-clamps, polished top clamp and riser and chromed headlamp bezel and turn signal give additional contrast to the vivid black paint. The mini-ape handlebar and compact digital display keep the front end clean.
Suspension
In the case of the suspension, the bike features mono-shock rear suspension with coil-overs and emulsion technology. As for the front, the dual bending valve front suspension enhances the responsiveness and handling of the bike. On top of this, the bike comes with ABS as an option on the Softail standard model.
Engine
The Milwaukee eight 107 V-twin engine with four-valve cylinder heads provides the performance. On top of this, it ensures the bike follows the look, sound and feel of the Harley DNA. The dual counterbalancers reduce primary vibration at the idle to improve rider comfort. For riders who focus on performance, there is a Harley-Davidson screamin’ eagle stage upgrade kit which is available for this engine.
The pricing of the pike is $13,599* in the US. However, there are also four accessory packages available from Harley. Check out the packages here! In the case of Malaysia, we are not sure when this bike would be hitting the streets, but we sure do hope to see this soon!
