This custom BMW R80 Bobber makes coffee and Star Wars a dynamic duo

This custom BMW R80 Bobber makes coffee and Star Wars a dynamic duo

Hailing from the Netherlands, custom bike maker Ironwood Motorcycles takes on this classic BMW R80 Bobber and transforms it into an eye-catching beauty that merges the likes of coffee and Star Wars.

KESSEL COFFEE RUN. Ironwood's 'Latte Stormtrooper' BMW R80 Bobber ...

In case you have not seen this custom BMW R80 Bobber, this is your time to pay attention and we promise you, it will be worth it. Dutch shop Ironwood Motorcycles has been serving impressive custom BMWs since 2012, likewise, this classic 1985 BMW R80 Bobber is no exception to the magic they perform. Ironwood Motorcycles boss Arjan Van Den Boom calls this custom beauty ‘The Latte’, a joking edge on the ‘café racer’ and his coffee ideas. Star Wars and coffee- a good combination no? Ironwood currently has two bike series. The first is ‘The Deathstar Series’ which is based on the R80 and R100 twin-shock bobbers with chunky tires. The second is ‘The Stormtrooper Series’, based on the R80 monoshocks that comes with a vintage compound rubber.  Latte Stormtrooper When describing the Latte Stormtrooper, Arjan said that “It sounds a lot like an upcoming J.J. Abrams Star Wars Franchise piece; think Darth Vader meets Rocky Balboa,” as quoted from Pipeburn. This definitely has piqued our interest! Ironwood Motorcycles purchased the BMW R80 Bobber from Arjan’s go-to powder coater. The customising work began from the chassis all the way to chopping off the fork tubes. The team customised most parts of the bike, including the bars, piston rings, clutch and the seat. Furthermore, to upgrade its visibility on the road, the team made a change to the headlights. To give the bike a signature Ironwood flare, the team made sure to apply some flanges on the aluminium discs. This would take the exterior up a notch. Lastly, it is topped off with some Ironwood branding. Much like its name, Ironwood gave this BMW R80 Bobber a mocha latte hue to complement its identity. This colour scheme is nothing like we have ever seen before. Just like a good cup of coffee, this custom Stormtrooper has definitely awakened our senses.
