Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo is an avid motorcycle rider!

Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo is an avid motorcycle rider!

For those of you who are not aware, the 2018 Asian Games has taken place and Indonesia’s Present Joko Widodo, or better known as Jokowi, has left a impeccable and grand impression for the start of the honourable event. He has received many praises for riding a motorcycle in a video clip played at the opening ceremony. The video contains Jokowi’s performance of his skilfull riding on a bike when speeding through the city towards Felora Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan.

However, a stuntman was used in several scenes. Despite that, it did not stop the crowd from cheering for his stunning action. Jokowi’s stunning action has certainly created a buzz on social media. The 57 year-old is no stranger to motorcycles and on several occasions, has ridden motorcycles during his working visit activities.

Among the four motorcycles that were brought to attention are the Wim Motor type Zero 8i. Royal Enfield Bullet 350cc, Kawasaki KLX 150 BF SE and the Yamaha FZ1.

The President rode the Wim electric bike during a working visit to the Agats region, Asmat District, Papua, on Thursday, Aug 12. This electric motorcycle has a capacity of 1000 watts and can be driven up to 50-80 km/h. As for the Royal Enfield bike, Jokowi rode in on Aug 8 for a working visit to Sukabumi, West Java. The chopper he rode has been modified by Elders Garage and Kick Ass Chopper.

Jokowi opted for the Kawasaki dirt bike for a trip to Muara Gembong in Bekasi on Nov 1 2017. He noted that the location of the pond in Muara Gembong was quite far from road access for four-wheeled vehicles therefore a dirt bike was the most appropriate vehicle. Last but not least, the Yamaha FZ1 that made jaws drop at the Asian Games caps our list. Produced from 2001, the bike’s production has been halted since 2015.
