Ducati Monster Parade in Paul Ricard sets a new record!

As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Monster, Ducati organized at the Paul Ricard Circuit a Monster Parade. Organized in France by Ducati West Europe as part of the Sunday Ride Classic motorcycling festival, the parade saw the participation of an incredible number of Monsters of every type, year and model from all over Europe.

More than 500 Monster – 517 motorcycles to be exact – gathered at the famous French race track to celebrate a quarter century of existence of the Ducati Monster. From the original Monster 900 from 1993 up to the Monster 821 from 2018, the swarm of Italian naked bikes transformed the track into a colorful convoy of bikes that set a new record.

Certified by Raphaël Botte, the judiciary official of Bandol (Var, France), the 517 Monster bikes took a lap of the track.

They were led by former official Ducati WSBK rider Régis Laconi, who rode ahead of the bunch as, quite literally, the Ducati flag bearer. In all the history of the Monster, nothing like this had ever been seen: which ensured the previous record (established in 2008 by the enthusiasts of the Monster Owners Belgium Club, with 405 bikes) was soundly beaten.

Showing that the Monster is a motorcycle that can be ridden complete original or as a customized bike, at the Monster Parade there were rare bikes like one of the few Monster “Senna” or a completely preserved Monster Cromo.

For those owners that like to be unique, the Ducati Monster is also a perfect base to do a custom project. On track we could also see a lot of customized Monster, from all shapes and looks, a testimony that this is truly an iconic bike.

As part of the communication strategy of the 25th Ducati Monster anniversary, the Bologna based manufacturer also started a campaign specially for this occasion: if you want to join Ducati, use the hashtag #welovemonster on your social networks.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
