Honda CBR500R & CB500F Review 2019 | Plus prices & specs

Local Honda motorcycle distributor, Boon Siew Honda, has just announced the 2017 CBR500R and CBR500F with new exciting colours.

Both the fully-faired CBR500 R and naked CBR500F share the same 471cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve, parallel-Twin engine, that’s fed through 34mm throttle bodies that are controlled by Honda’s trademark PGM-Fi fuel injection control. Honda claims a power output of 49.6 bhp *(37 kW) at 8500 RPM and 44 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. Fuel capacity has been increased to 16.7 litres. The bikes are also lightweight, at just 196 kg, fully fueled and ready to go.

Both variants feature stylish LED headlmaps and taillights. Other functions include adjustable front fork, front brake lever with 5 adjustments and a sporty muffler. Honda has also include the “Wave Key” function to improve security.

Wahid's lust for motorcycles was spurred on by his late-Dad's love for his Lambretta on which he courted, married his mother, and took baby Wahid riding on it. He has since worked in the motorcycle and automotive industry for many years, before taking up riding courses and testing many, many motorcycles since becoming a motojournalist. Wahid likes to see things differently. What can you say about a guy who sees a road safety message in AC/DC's "Highway to Hell."
