The 2025 TrialGP World Championship heads into its second half with a return to familiar territory—San Marino. Absent from the calendar in 2024, this picturesque location now plays host to Round 5, where riders will tackle technical terrain they know well. At the heart of the battle? Repsol Honda’s Toni Bou, who arrives on a blistering six-race win streak.

Bou leads the championship standings with 322 points, commanding a 55-point advantage over his nearest rival, Jaime Busto. The Montesa Cota 4RT rider has been in imperious form since Portugal, showing no signs of slowing down. Having swept both days the last time TrialGP landed in San Marino back in 2023, Bou’s goal is crystal clear—extend the lead and keep the pressure off heading into the latter rounds.

After a year's break, San Marino is back on the TrialGP calendar. Toni Bou leads the championship, while Gabriel Marcelli hunts consistency in Round 5 of 2025.

“We’ve managed to maintain a very high level since Portugal,” said Bou. “The terrain in Calvi was demanding, but we adapted well. That adaptability will be crucial again this weekend. I’m looking forward to San Marino—it brings good memories.”

While Bou’s dominance is the talk of the paddock, teammate Gabriel Marcelli remains very much in the fight for the runner-up spot. Sitting third in the championship with 230 points—just 37 behind Busto—Marcelli is looking to rebound after a mixed outing in Calvi, where he notched a third and fourth-place finish.

“San Marino is a good opportunity to regain momentum,” Marcelli shared. “I’ve felt fast in Japan and Corsica, but I need to finish the job. We’ve identified what needs fixing, and I feel confident heading into the weekend.”

After a year's break, San Marino is back on the TrialGP calendar. Toni Bou leads the championship, while Gabriel Marcelli hunts consistency in Round 5 of 2025.

Team manager Takahisa Fujinami is confident in both his riders, acknowledging Bou’s stellar form while keeping the pressure constructive for Marcelli.

“Toni’s winning streak speaks volumes about the team’s effort. As for Gabri, we’ve seen what he’s capable of. He just needs to find his rhythm again. The second half of the season is all about focus.”

Scrutineering and practice begin Friday, with the real action unfolding across Saturday and Sunday. With momentum on his side and history in his favour, Toni Bou will look to make San Marino another stepping stone toward yet another title, while Marcelli fights to prove there’s still plenty of battle left in 2025.
