Honda HRC has officially signed Tom Vialle in a landmark multi-year agreement that will see the French star step up to the MXGP class aboard the Honda CRF450R. The two-time MX2 World Champion and double AMA Supercross 250 East Champion makes the high-profile switch as he returns from his American campaign to rejoin the world motocross stage.

A Strategic Move at the Right Time

After two successful years in the United States, including back-to-back Supercross titles and multiple podiums in SuperMotocross, Vialle saw this as the perfect time to return to the world championship scene. His recent SuperMotocross World Championship podium underlined his form and adaptability, making him one of the most sought-after riders in the paddock.

“This is obviously a big change for me, but it felt like the right one at this stage of my career,” said Vialle. “When I found out Honda HRC were interested, I knew I wasn’t going to get a better opportunity. The CRF450R is an incredible machine, and I’m confident in my abilities to adapt and fight for wins again.”

Honda HRC’s Statement Signing

Honda HRC General Manager Marcus Pereira de Freitas hailed Vialle’s arrival as a “statement signing”. He noted his blend of experience and proven championship pedigree.

“Tom joining Honda HRC is a big coup for us. He’s already a double world champion in motocross and a two-time SX champion. To secure him at this point in his career shows our intent. This will be his first time racing a 450cc, but his adaptability and professionalism make us confident he’ll transition smoothly.”

Vialle will partner with Ruben Fernandez, who re-signed with the team after finishing fourth in the 2025 MXGP World Championship. The Spanish rider’s speed and consistency will provide a strong benchmark for the team’s new recruit.

Preparing for 2026

Vialle’s first official appearance in red will come at the Paris Supercross. He’ll race in front of his home crowd before focusing fully on preparation for the 2026 MXGP World Championship. The 20-round season will take him around the globe, culminating in the Motocross of Nations in Ernee, France, a venue where he famously helped Team France win the MXoN title in 2023.

The 24-year-old’s move marks a full-circle moment, from MX2 champion to U.S. Supercross success, and now to the premier MXGP class, with one of the most decorated teams in motocross history behind him.
