Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia to feature first-ever pre-race EDM festivals and special ticket promotions in bid to surpass last year’s attendance record.

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is standing firm on its ambitious goal of attracting 200,000 spectators over three days for the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia, scheduled for October 24–26.
SIC chief executive officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif admitted the target is challenging but believes it is achievable, building on last year’s record attendance of 184,923.
“We have already reached 75 per cent of our ticket capacity and this year we are introducing a number of exciting enhancements, including our first-ever pre-race electronic dance music (EDM) festivals,” Shafriman said at the Malaysian GP press conference in Kuala Lumpur. “200,000 is a bit of a stretch, we know, but with the support of everyone we believe we can achieve it.”

Also present at the launch was Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, who confirmed the race will be preceded by two EDM festivals on October 18–19. She also announced that RM1 from every ticket sold will be channeled to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN) in support of Malaysian athlete development.
To spur ticket sales, SIC has introduced a Buy-One-Free-One promotion for Malaysia GP Rahmah tickets priced at RM49.90. The offer, which began at noon yesterday, will run until 8pm today.
With strong early sales, added entertainment elements, and fan-friendly ticket initiatives, SIC is confident the 2025 Malaysian GP could set a new benchmark for both attendance and race weekend experience.
