Miguel Oliveira is set to make his much-anticipated return to MotoGP action this weekend at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans, after being sidelined for three consecutive rounds due to injury. The Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team has confirmed his comeback following a successful final medical evaluation.

Oliveira sustained a dislocated sternoclavicular ligament in his left shoulder during a crash in the Sprint Race at the Argentine GP. The injury forced the Portuguese rider to miss the GPs of the Americas, Qatar, and Spain. During his absence, Yamaha Factory Racing Test Rider Augusto Fernandez stepped in as his replacement.

“The nightmare is over,” the team declared in its official statement. A final MRI conducted last week in Milan confirmed that Oliveira had made a full recovery, clearing the path for his return to competition aboard the Yamaha YZR-M1.

Before officially joining the grid at Le Mans, Oliveira will complete the mandatory medical check-up at the circuit’s medical center on Thursday. He will reunite with his race engineer, Luca Ferraccioli, and resume his role within the team.

Prima Pramac Yamaha also expressed its appreciation to Fernandez for his dedication and performance while filling in for Oliveira: “The entire Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team extends its gratitude to Augusto for his commitment and outstanding work with the team over the past few weeks.”

Oliveira’s return boosts the team’s prospects heading into Le Mans, as the MotoGP paddock braces for another high-stakes weekend in France.
