The Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar clinched the Best Grand Prix of 2023 title. This prestigious award considers key aspects like planning, facilities, and fan engagement. The Qatar GP’s triumph highlights its meticulous organization, top-notch facilities, and passionate fan participation.

The International Road Racing Teams’ Association (IRTA) played a pivotal role in determining the winner, with a comprehensive voting process across multiple categories. The final decision was officially ratified by the Grand Prix Commission, solidifying the Qatar GP’s claim to the top spot.

Lusail International Circuit (LIC), the host venue for the Qatar GP, stood out for its exceptional safety standards and a track layout that consistently delivers exhilarating races. The circuit has become synonymous with unforgettable battles, creating iconic moments etched in recent MotoGP history. The 2023 season marked a significant milestone for Lusail, as the entire venue underwent a comprehensive renovation before welcoming back MotoGP™, elevating its overall standing to world-leading standards.

The 2023 Qatar GP had record-breaking attendance. Fans flocked to see intense Championship battles under dazzling floodlights. The event showcased sporting prowess and collective efforts for an immersive spectator experience.

Mr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of QMMF and LIC, thanked for the recognition. He emphasized the event’s importance in the region’s sporting culture. Al Mannai stated, “We aim to contribute to Qatar’s 2030 vision with world-class motorsports.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, commended the efforts invested in the Lusail Circuit’s facilities, describing them as truly impressive. “There is a lot to celebrate at this event,” he said, highlighting the exceptional racing and the largest crowd ever welcomed at Lusail.

Hervé Poncharal, President of IRTA, echoed the sentiments, emphasizing Lusail as a new benchmark for the MotoGP calendar. He commended the attention to detail and the unwavering support from the organizers, stating, “Congratulations to Qatar on this truly deserved award.”

The award ceremony is on Sunday at the 2024 Qatar Airways Grand Prix. It sets the stage for a thrilling showdown in Doha. Qatar enjoys well-deserved recognition as the Best Grand Prix of 2023. This solidifies its place as a global sports destination in the Middle East.
