Following the launch of the all-new Honda GROM MSX, HRC announces race-spec HRC GROM and “HRC GROM CUP” for Japan!
Honda Racing Corporation [HRC] announces race-spec HRC GROM and one-make HRC GROM CUP for the Japanese market. As for the availability, the race-spec GROM will be made available in Japan starting March 2021.
HRC Japan says the HRC GROM is based on the all-new 2021 Honda GROM that was launched in Thailand yesterday. Being a race-ready mini bike, the HRC GROM is different in numerous ways. With the HRC GROM, the race division of Honda gets rid of all the unnecessary safety parts and adds in race ECU, harness, HRC Kit parts, race-ready fairings, tires, cowl, muffler and other components that are necessary for racing.
Aside from this, HRC also provides a special HRC service supply package together with the bike. The race-spec GROM will be going on sale as a complete bike via HRC Service shop/ dealers in Japan. The HRC GROM is strictly for the track which means it cannot be registered or ridden on the road. It’s much like the Honda CBR250RR Race Support Programme for Malaysia which was announced earlier last month.

HRC GROM CUP
HRC also announced a one-make race, “HRC GROM CUP” [similar to the one from 2017] but this time, buyers of the HRC GROM get the opportunity to join and compete in the series using their own bike.
