PETRONAS Sprinta Racing riders John McPhee and Khairul Idham Pawi will be in action at the Circuit de Jerez-Angel Nieto this weekend. The duo has hopes to not repeat the same mistakes as last week to deliver stellar results.

McPhee presented a great performance in the Gran Premio de España but a last corner crash denied him of a podium finish. This time, the Scot will be looking forward to bouncing back to make amends.

Teammate KIP, who is still acclimatising to Moto3, experienced difficulties in the Spanish heat. The Malaysian will be able to take advantage of having back-to-back races at the same circuit. He will be able to use the data and knowledge from the weekend to improve his feeling on the bike. High hopes will are placed on the Andalusia GP.

John McPhee (PETRONAS Sprinta Racing)- What to Expect?

“Obviously I’m very disappointed with the result from last weekend and with such a short season it’s a big punishment to not score points. We can’t dwell on it though and we have to focus on the next opportunity. The best thing about this situation is that I get to try again this weekend. I have a lot of positive feedback and data from the race to work with. The main thing that I need to improve is the start. My rhythm was good, my speed was good, the feeling with the bike was good. The only problem was that I went backwards at the start. I want to manage that better this weekend and have a great race.”

Khairul Idham Pawi (PETRONAS Sprinta Racing)- What to Expect?

“For this next race, I need to improve myself and some things with the bike. We struggled in the fast corners and lost time there, so this is something we need to work on and improve. Last weekend we didn’t find the best solution, but we’re racing at the same circuit this weekend so we have a lot of data to use. Hopefully, this weekend will be better and we can make some progress.”
