Video: Cal Crutchlow having fun on Eddie Lawson’s Honda NSR500

The British rider was present at the Honda Racing Thanks Day in Motegi to ride and have fun on the Honda NSR500 that belonged to Eddie Lawson.

Honda Racing organized the Honda Racing Thanks Day at the Motegi racetrack. This event is used by Honda to celebrate the racing season in front of the Japanese fans. Over 17.000 spectators visited Motegi hoping to see Marc Marquez, but the Spanish rider was in Milan for the EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show.

So, Honda Racing called British rider Cal Crutchlow to take the center stage during the Honda Racing Thanks Day.

The Castrol Honda LCR rider was the only MotoGP rider riding on the track. His teammate Takaaki Nakagami was present but because he is injured he was there just to say hi to the fans and enjoy the event.

Besides riding his Honda RC213V, Cal Crutchlow also had the chance to ride a very special bike. Eddie Lawson’s Honda NSR500. The bike was the one that Lawson used during the championship-winning season in 1989.

The British MotoGP rider said that the NSR500 was fantastic to ride. “I want to thank HRC for this chance, because it was a fantastic event for the fans, but also to us, riders. I can’t imagine myself racing one of these back in 1989”, said Crutchlow.
