Remember when we told you a few days back, that Honda is updating the Africa Twin adventure bike with a new engine for 2020? Well, according to Japanese magazine Young Machine, always with good sources within Honda corporation, the biggest motorcycle manufacturer in the world is also working on a neo-cafe racer.

Young Machine goes even further and has created that new bike using computer rendered images, using information they’ve got from their sources. If this bike is indeed a work in progress, Honda would finally bring to reality the futuristic design of the CB4 Interceptor concept bike they showed in 2017.

The engine supposed to be used on the Honda GB1000 is the new twin-cylinder engine that we’ve talked about for the new Africa Twin, meaning that the engine is 1.080 cc and able to deliver around 100 hp with the twist of the throttle. Honda will surely let the rider choose the manual transmission or the automatic DCT.

The bike created by Young Machine features top of the line components like Öhlins forks and Brembo monoblock brake calipers, but considering what Honda has done with other models, we’re guessing that the Japanese manufacturer will create a standard version of the GB1000, to be a more affordable bike, and an up-spec version with these high end components for those riders looking for the ultimate neo-cafe racer experience.

From what we’re seeing on the computer generated image, we’re hoping that Honda is indeed working on this new GB1000!

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
