Azlan Shah will race in the 2018 Malaysia Superbike Championship with a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R from the Chia Motor PJ Racing Team

Good news for Azlan Shah fans! One of Malaysia’s best known motorcycle racer will be competing in this season of the Malaysia Superbike Championship, after signing a deal with Chia Motor PJ Kawasaki Racing Team.

Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman, 33-year-old racer from Klang, will take to the racetracks the Ninja ZX-10R as a way to train for next year’s inaugural 1000 cc class of the Asia Road Racing Championship, while also racing at the Supersport class of the ARRC this season.

The team, based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, changed their approach to the Malaysia Superbike Championship this year, and instead of competing in all four categories of the championship like they did until now, Chia Motor PJ Kawasaki Racing Team will only focus in racing Azlan Shah on the Superbike class.

With the first of five rounds of the Malaysia Superbike Championship starting next weekend – from 11 to 13 May – at Sepang International Circuit, Azlan Shah already had some time to test the race prepped Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R, and with all the experience he has he will be one of the favorites to get the win.
