The 2026 Yamaha YZ BLU CRU FIM Europe Cup is already gaining remarkable traction, with 430 riders registered just weeks into the sign-up period. Registration remains open until March 2, 2026 (midnight CET). However, early numbers point to another blockbuster season for Europe’s premier youth motocross talent programme.
A Strong Start and a More Diverse Field
The YZ BLU CRU Cup continues to strengthen its reputation as a key pathway for young riders aged 8 to 16. Competitors will progress through national qualifiers, aiming for a coveted place at the YZ BLU CRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale.
One standout statistic from the early entry pool is the growth in female participation, now nearing 10%. The rising number of young women in the series reflects Yamaha’s ongoing commitment to expanding accessibility and ensuring motocross opens its gates to all riders.
Momentum Carried Over from a Record-Setting 2025
Last season set a high bar, with more than 800 registrations and 112 riders lining up alongside MXGP stars at the MXGP of Sweden in Uddevalla. Podium finishers and wildcard riders earned places at the elite BLU CRU Masterclass. SuperFinale winners made history by qualifying for the inaugural YZ BLU CRU World SuperFinale at the Motocross of Nations in the United States.
The 2026 edition is shaping up to build on that success.
All Roads Lead to the 2026 SuperFinale in Ernée
A total of 120 riders from international BLU CRU qualifiers will secure a gate position at the 2026 SuperFinale. It is set to take place during the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France (October 2–4).
From there, the top three finishers in each category, two wildcard picks, and the highest-placed female rider will advance to the BLU CRU Masterclass. It is an intensive two-day coaching programme led by icons Gautier Paulin, Brian Jorgensen, and Nancy van de Ven. Final selection for the 2027 season support packages will be based on talent, potential, and rider attitude.
Pathways for Future Champions
The programme offers meaningful career progression:
- The YZ125 class winner earns a spot on a Yamaha-supported team for the full 2027 EMX125 Championship, racing a GYTR-equipped YZ125.
- YZ85 and YZ65 winners receive additional Yamaha backing for their 2027 development journey.
