MotoGP is heading to Singapore to kick off the 2026 season with a global launch event, according to a report from Motorsport.com.
The collective presentation, involving all 11 premier class teams, will take place on 6-7 February 2026 in the city-state. This marks a shift from Bangkok, which successfully hosted the series’ first-ever global launch earlier this year.
Singapore was selected over Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne after months of discussions, with logistics and cost considerations playing a key role in the decision.
Ahead of the launch, riders will complete pre-season testing at the Sepang International Circuit from 2-4 February, following the rookie and test rider shakedown. From there, teams will make the short journey to Singapore for the showcase before attention turns to the season opener in Buriram, Thailand, on 1 March.
The second pre-season test is still under review, with organisers weighing up whether to hold it right after the Singapore event or closer to the first race.
The Singapore launch will also mark the first under Liberty Media’s ownership of Dorna, signalling a new era for MotoGP’s global profile. Liberty, which also owns Formula 1, is expected to bring fresh commercial and promotional strategies to the sport.
