The Ducati Lenovo Team is ready to return from the summer break with its sights firmly on a milestone achievement: a tenth consecutive victory at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. The 13th round of the 2025 MotoGP season, scheduled for August 15–17, promises to be a high-stakes affair as Marc Márquez and Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia prepare to defend Ducati’s dominance on Austrian soil.

A Fortress for Ducati

Since Andrea Iannone’s breakthrough win in 2016, the Borgo Panigale manufacturer has remained unbeaten at the venue, even across the double-race years of 2020 and 2021 when the Austrian and Styrian Grands Prix were both held. Ducati’s victory roll call includes Iannone (2016), Jorge Lorenzo (2018), Johann Zarco’s 2021 Styrian win for Pramac, and three apiece for Andrea Dovizioso (2017, 2019, 2020) and Bagnaia (2022, 2023, 2024).

This winning streak has solidified the Red Bull Ring as one of Ducati’s most reliable hunting grounds, thanks to its long straights, heavy braking zones, and acceleration-friendly layout, all well-suited to the Desmosedici GP’s strengths.

Márquez Chasing New Ground

Championship leader Marc Márquez arrives in Austria with 381 points and a comfortable lead in the riders’ standings, but without a personal win at this circuit. Known for his relentless racecraft, Márquez is eager to change that statistic:

“The Austrian track has never given me great satisfaction, but it’s always produced incredible battles to the last corner,” said Márquez. “I’m ready to attack this second half of the season at full speed.”

Bagnaia’s Happy Hunting Ground

Bagnaia, sitting third in the championship with 214 points, has an enviable record in Spielberg, having won the last three editions. His confidence heading into the weekend is clear:

“This track has always been very favourable to Ducati. In the last three seasons, we’ve achieved the best possible results here,” he said. “It’s the perfect place to restart the season, and there are more of my favourite tracks coming up.”

Momentum Across the Board

Beyond the riders’ standings, Ducati is also in control of both the manufacturers’ championship (430 points) and the teams’ table (594 points), underscoring its season-long dominance.

The action kicks off on Friday, August 15, at 10:45 a.m. local time with the first free practice session, setting the stage for what could be another chapter in Ducati’s Austrian fairytale.
