GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona delivered a determined performance at round four of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, securing back-to-back podium finishes in the Enduro2 (E2) class amidst gruelling Welsh terrain in Rhayader. The Italian rider’s grit and resilience kept his unbroken streak of E2 podiums alive, extending a remarkable record that has stood for over five years.
Consistent Performance Despite the Challenge
The weekend got off to a strong start for Verona, who placed third in Friday night’s Akrapovič Super Test. On Saturday, he maintained that momentum aboard his GASGAS EC 450F, charging through the treacherous course to claim second place in Enduro2 and third overall in EnduroGP, missing out on the overall runner-up spot by under six seconds.
Sunday’s outing proved more difficult. Verona encountered a boggy section during the second cross test, losing nearly a minute after getting stuck. Undeterred, he fought back to finish third in Enduro2 and sixth overall in EnduroGP—an impressive recovery that demonstrated his unwavering determination.
“It’s been a mixed weekend,” Verona commented. “I had good speed, but a few mistakes cost me on Saturday, and Sunday’s error in the cross test was frustrating. Still, two podiums in E2 is a solid result, and now my focus is on the Six Days in Italy before returning to the championship.”
Championship Implications
Verona’s efforts in Wales see him hold second in the Enduro2 standings with 138 points, behind leader Zach Pichon of TM Moto, who dominated the weekend with back-to-back E2 wins. In the overall EnduroGP standings, Verona remains in third place with 120 points, trailing Pichon and championship leader Josep Garcia of KTM.
With two rounds remaining, the battle for both the Enduro2 and EnduroGP titles remains intense. Verona will next compete on home soil at the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations in Bergamo from August 24–29 before the championship resumes in Portugal from September 12–14.
