Malaysia’s youngest racing sensation, 13-year-old Qabil Irfan Azlan, delivered a spectacular performance at the Jerez Circuit over the weekend, securing back-to-back victories in the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK) Talent Cup 2025. The Terengganu-born prodigy fulfilled his promise of playing Malaysia’s national anthem “Negaraku” on Spanish soil after dominating both Race 1 on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday.
In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Qabil battled fiercely with Spanish rider Izan Rodriguez throughout Sunday’s 14-lap race. The two riders exchanged lead positions multiple times before Qabil ultimately crossed the finish line just 0.403 seconds ahead of Rodriguez, clocking a winning time of 26:08.299. Another Spanish contender, Andres Garcia, completed the podium in third place, 12.562 seconds behind the Malaysian wonderkid.
“Alhamdulillah! I am very happy to have won both races here. This is for Malaysia!” an elated Qabil exclaimed after his victory. “I knew Rodriguez would be my toughest challenger. On the final lap, I positioned myself strategically – if I stayed behind, I wouldn’t have time to overtake. Thank God I secured first place today.”

Riding for the Frando Racing VHC Team Liqui Moly with his signature #4, Qabil demonstrated remarkable racecraft and maturity beyond his years. His double victory marks a significant milestone in his young career and reinforces Malaysia’s growing presence in international motorcycle racing.
SIC Racing Team Manager Zul Fahmi Khairuddin praised Qabil’s achievement: “We set high targets but weren’t sure about the competition level in this new category. Qabil has exceeded expectations, and this is just the beginning. I congratulate him, his family, and our entire team for this outstanding performance.”
Qabil’s triumph in Jerez follows his impressive debut in the championship, where he previously claimed his maiden victory with a time of 26:22.85. The young rider’s success has set the stage for an exciting second round at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona from May 9-11, where he aims to extend his winning streak.
As Malaysia’s brightest motorsport talent continues to make waves internationally, Qabil Irfan Azlan has proven that age is no barrier to excellence. His historic double victory at Jerez not only brings pride to the nation but also signals the arrival of a formidable new force in global motorcycle racing.
