Indian automobile company Classic Legends will be rolling out the iconic Yezdi Motorcycle brand before the end of this year. According to sources, the engineering teams at Classic Legends have developed a 650cc engine for the upcoming BSA Motorcycles.
The BSA motorcycles will be revamped and revived as a premium motorcycle brand. The 650cc engine is currently in advanced stages of testing. It will be powering the motorcycles. Reports state that the new engine with the BSA prototype is currently in its testing phase. The engine will be compliant with Euro 5 emission norms as Classic Legends will re-introduce the BSA Motorcycles in the European market.
It is likely that the manufacturer will be producing the new BSA Motorcycles for Europe in India whereas assembly will take place overseas. An assembly line for the premium bikes has been set up at the Pithampur plant.
The launch date for the BSA motorcycles are still speculative but it does not rule out a possible appearance at the EICMA 2021 in Milan later this year.
The Mahindra & Mahindra backed company has secured funding from GBP 4.6 million from the UK government. It has opened a technical and design centre in the UK and engineers have been recruited from different domains.
