Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, the 2024 World Superbike (WSBK) champion, was officially crowned at the prestigious FIM Awards Ceremony in Mallorca, Spain. The Turkish rider received his championship medal from FIM President Jorge Viegas, marking yet another milestone in his illustrious career.

Razgatlıoğlu dominated the 2024 WSBK season, finishing atop the rider standings with 527 points. Nicolo Bulega claimed second place with 484 points, while Alvaro Bautista rounded out the top three with 357 points. The Turkish motorcycle racing icon delivered an extraordinary performance throughout the season, reaching the podium 27 times, with 18 victories, seven second-place finishes, and two third-place finishes.

As the reigning champion, Razgatlıoğlu will carry the iconic number “1” plate on his BMW M1000RR in the 2025 season. Unlike MotoGP champion Jorge Martín, who opted to retain his personal number “89,” Razgatlıoğlu embraces the number “1” with pride and determination to defend his title.

The 2024 season’s triumph strengthens Razgatlıoğlu’s standing as one of the sport’s greatest talents. However, the Turkish rider remains vocal about his long-term ambition to transition to MotoGP.

In a recent interview with Motori Online, Razgatlıoğlu reiterated his desire to compete in the premier class, though he acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding his path to MotoGP with BMW.

“I hope to make my dream of moving to MotoGP a reality. We’ll see in the future. I have a contract with BMW for another year, but I don’t know if we can go to the World Championship with this manufacturer,” said Razgatlıoğlu.

For now, Razgatlıoğlu’s focus is firmly set on the 2025 WSBK season. “In 2026, I will be free, but for now, I’m focused on next season. I want to win another title,” he added.

As Razgatlıoğlu prepares for the upcoming season, fans and rivals alike are eager to see if the Turkish champion can maintain his dominance in World Superbike and eventually make his long-anticipated leap to MotoGP.
