Red Bull KTM Factory Racing celebrated a mixed but memorable day at Round 9 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, with Tom Vialle making a strong return to the 250MX podium and Chase Sexton producing a masterful Moto 1 win in the 450MX class at the Ironman National.

Vialle Consistent for Third Overall in 250MX

After skipping the Washougal National, two-time MX2 World Champion Tom Vialle wasted no time re-establishing himself among the front-runners. He qualified fifth on his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION before delivering back-to-back third-place finishes in both motos, securing third overall in Indiana and moving to fifth in the championship standings.

“I had fun all day and it was nice to be back at the track after some time off,” Vialle said. “I’ve always liked Ironman and have done well here, but it was really gnarly today. The woods were slippery, and some parts were sketchy, but I’m happy with my day and looking to finish the season strong.”

Beaumer Shows Pace Despite Tough Starts

Teammate Julien Beaumer also returned to action, posting the eighth-fastest qualifying time. He finished 15th in Moto 1 and 13th in Moto 2, earning 14th overall for the weekend.

“Qualifying was solid, but I was a bit slow off the start in both motos,” Beaumer explained. “My best laps came later in the races. We’re moving in the right direction and I’m excited to improve for Unadilla.”

Sexton Delivers Stunning Moto 1 Win in 450MX

Defending 450MX champion Chase Sexton qualified third on his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION and looked comfortable on Ironman’s fast, flowing layout. A crash early in Moto 1 left him deep in the pack, but the 25-year-old mounted a spectacular comeback to claim a hard-fought victory.

Sexton started Moto 2 well and was in the hunt for the overall win before another crash, this time just after the finish-line jump, forced him out due to a jammed front brake, likely caused by mud packing into the caliper. He was classified 10th overall on the strength of his Moto 1 result.

Team Manager’s View

“Tom’s third overall was a nice comeback after taking Washougal off, and he rode well to stay with the leaders,” said Ian Harrison, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager. “Julien was stronger than when he left off and can build from here. Chase’s first moto was incredible, a calculated ride to the win, but in Moto 2, debris in the brakes from the crash ended his race. We’ll work on a solution to prevent that in the future.”
