When it comes to motorcycle theft, most riders know that once the bike is gone, the odds of seeing it again are slim. But thanks to Apple’s AirTag, at least a few owners are getting the last laugh.

UK Rider Tracks Down His Stolen Bike

Earlier this month, Leicester Mercury reported that a stolen motorcycle in the UK was swiftly recovered after its owner had hidden an AirTag beneath the seat. Police followed the tracker’s signal straight to the thief’s home, specifically, his bedroom, where the bike was stashed. The suspect, caught red-handed, pleaded guilty soon after.

For the victim, the tiny Apple device transformed what could have been a total loss into a quick recovery.

Similar Case in Missouri

Across the Atlantic, Missouri investigators recently arrested two suspects linked to another stolen motorcycle. In that case, the thieves discovered the AirTag and tried to discard it, but by then the signal had already helped authorities piece together the theft.

A Growing Anti-Theft Tool for Riders

Motorcycles are notoriously easy targets for thieves, often disappearing into vans or garages within minutes. Locks and alarms help, but once a bike is gone, recovery rates are low. AirTags are starting to change that narrative, giving riders a discreet way to track their machines in real time.

Even though Apple doesn’t market the AirTag as a theft-prevention device, these cases show its potential. For motorcyclists, that means one more layer of security and a fighting chance of seeing a stolen ride again.
