Ducati has officially launched its highly anticipated Desmo450 MX motocross bike in European dealerships. This marks a significant milestone as the brand ventures off-road with a purpose-built machine developed directly from competition.
The Desmo450 MX, which made its debut at the 2026 Ducati World Première, is Ducati’s first foray into motocross. Born on the racetrack and refined through elite-level racing, the bike embodies Ducati’s performance-driven ethos. After arriving in Europe, the model is expected to reach U.S. dealers by the end of July, with global availability to follow soon after.
Racing Roots and Proven Pedigree
Developed with extensive input from top riders and engineers, the Desmo450 MX has already proven itself in the heat of competition. Alessandro Lupino clinched the Italian Prestige MX1 Championship aboard the bike. On the other hand, MXGP stars Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini continue to put it through its paces on the world stage. The two managed to earn two podiums and multiple holeshots. Ducati legend Tony Cairoli also made select appearances in the US Pro Motocross series. Thus, further contributing to the bike’s development and global ambitions.

Behind the Scenes: From Factory Floor to Finish Line
To commemorate the Desmo450 MX’s production rollout, Ducati has released a detailed behind-the-scenes video showcasing the assembly process at its Borgo Panigale facility. The footage traces every step. It offers a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship behind Ducati’s motocross debut. From engine construction to chassis fitting, first ignition, and final quality checks, a masterclass.
Tailored for Every Rider
Whether you’re a professional racer or a weekend warrior, the Desmo450 MX offers an impressive degree of customisation. Ducati Performance has curated a catalogue of accessories designed to mirror the machines ridden by Seewer and Guadagnini. Via Ducati.com’s Configurator, riders can personalise their bikes with top-shelf components like Akrapovič titanium exhaust systems, Brembo Racing callipers, and precision-engineered steering plates and hubs.

Complete the Look: Technical Gear and Apparel
To complement the Factory feel, Ducati is offering a full technical apparel line in collaboration with Drudi Performance. Riders can gear up in Alpinestars jerseys, pants, gloves, and boots, along with an Arai helmet, windproof vest, Spidi rain jacket, and softshell outerwear. This ensures they look as sharp as they ride.
Global Ambitions
With its initial success in Europe and ongoing development in American motocross through its collaboration with Troy Lee Designs, the Desmo450 MX signals Ducati’s serious entry into the off-road segment. The bike represents a fusion of desmodromic engineering heritage and modern racing innovation. It delivers performance and precision for riders across the skill spectrum.
