After two weeks of intensive testing in Portimao, Portugal, and Jerez, Spain, the ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 team is set to begin the 2025 season at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand. The team’s riders, Albert Arenas and Darryn Binder are eager to hit the track and showcase their potential in the opening round of the championship.

Albert Arenas, who finished eighth at Buriram last year, is determined to build on that performance and aim even higher this season. The Spaniard has been working hard during the pre-season tests to establish a solid foundation for the year ahead.

“Thailand is a place I really love: it will be so hot! Last year we did a nice race, and we can’t wait to prove ourselves again,” Arenas said. “We arrive here after three days of rest, which I needed after the pre-season. We’re ready with a fresh mind: I’m looking forward to seeing where we are. We have a solid base to start the weekend and give our maximum.”

On the other side of the garage, Darryn Binder is preparing for his debut with the ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 team. The South African rider, who joined the team this season, has used the pre-season tests to familiarize himself with the 2025 bike and his new crew.

“First race of the year, it is going to be a super hot one, quite different from the testing, and I’m really looking forward to it,” Binder said. “I really enjoy Thailand; it’s a good track. I have some good memories there, so I’m excited to get back and get the season underway with my new team.”

The Buriram International Circuit, known for its challenging layout and scorching temperatures, will host the first free practice session on Friday at 02:50 UTC. Both Arenas and Binder are ready to tackle the demanding conditions and start their 2025 campaigns on a strong note.
