The 2024 FIM JuniorGP Championship is set to conclude with its final round at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal from November 25 to 27, following a venue change from Valencia. Teams are preparing for a dramatic finish, with two intense races scheduled to wrap up the season.

For Malaysian fans, the spotlight is on SIC Racing, which will see a revised lineup for the final round. Hakim Danish (SIC Racing – MSi) will miss the race due to a right-hand finger injury sustained in an accident last week.

Farish Hafiy

Stepping in for Hakim is Farish Hafiy, fresh from his campaign in the Asia Talent Cup. Hafiy is currently undergoing intensive training at the Riders Formation camp in Barcelona to prepare for his debut in the Moto3 class.

“This is my first time riding a Moto3-class machine, and I’ll give my best effort to make this opportunity count. I thank my team, ZK Racing, for their trust,” Hafiy shared in a statement.

Meanwhile, Danial Syahmi (Junior Talent Team) has fully recovered from a hand injury sustained during training in Aragon last month. He is optimistic about the final race, aiming to secure his first podium of the season.

“This will be my final race in JuniorGP for the 2024 season, so I’ve set higher targets for myself. I’m already familiar with the Estoril Circuit as we raced here earlier this year, where I achieved a good result,” Syahmi shared. “With the data we gathered from the previous race, I feel more confident in improving my lap times during free practice and qualifying sessions.”

Reflecting on his previous performance, he added, “Earlier race at Estoril this year, I finished in the Top 5. For this race, my goal is to finish in the Top 3 in both Race 1 and Race 2, securing my first podium of the season. As this is my last race in JuniorGP, I want to leave a significant impact.”

The 2024 FIM JuniorGP Championship wraps up at Portugal’s Estoril Circuit from November 25 to 27 after a venue switch from Valencia.

Syahmi’s preparation has been nothing short of rigorous. “My preparation in Spain, including training before returning to Malaysia, has been very intensive. I’ve spent a lot of time on motorcycle training, cycling, and working out in the gym. Continuing the same program after returning to Spain, I now feel that my physical condition is much better prepared for this race,” he explained.

Syahmi added, “I ask for the prayers and support of all Malaysians as I strive to close the season on a high note.”

Meanwhile, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, SIC Racing team leader, acknowledged the challenges of the final round. “The venue change to Estoril and adjusted dates have increased costs and added pressure on teams. The unpredictable weather at Estoril during this time of year, with potential rain and strong winds, adds another layer of complexity,” he said.

While expressing disappointment over Hakim Danish’s absence, Zulfahmi praised Hafiy’s preparation and highlighted Danial’s strengths at the Estoril Circuit. “Danial’s Top 5 finish earlier this year gives us confidence in his potential for a podium finish. We are giving our best efforts with Hafiy and Danial to end the season strongly. We wish Hakim a speedy recovery,” he added.

The final round promises exciting action as SIC Racing riders compete to deliver memorable performances. Catch the races live on the FIM JuniorGP YouTube and Facebook channels, with the schedule tailored for Malaysian viewers included below.
