The Malaysia Autoshow 2024 has become a significant platform for BMW Motorrad to introduce its latest innovations in the motorcycle industry. The German manufacturer revealed four exciting new models: the all-electric CE 02, the new BMW F 900 GS, the new BMW R 1300 GS, and the new BMW S 1000 XR. This announcement reflects BMW Motorrad’s commitment to combining electrification with high-performance and cutting-edge design.
All-New BMW CE 02
Powertrain and Performance:
The CE 02 is BMW Motorrad’s latest foray into electric mobility. It features a power unit that generates 15 hp and 55 Nm of torque. This enables it to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 95 km/h.
Range:
The bike is equipped with a 6 kWh lithium-ion battery. It offers a range of up to 100 km on a single charge, making it ideal for urban commuting.
Features:
This model boasts a 3.5-inch TFT colour display, arrow navigation, real-time vehicle status, and several driving modes including ‘Flow,’ ‘Surf,’ and ‘Flash.’ Additional conveniences include a USB socket, keyless ride functionality, reversing aid, cradle mode, and a smartphone holder.
All-New BMW F 900 GS
Powertrain and Performance:
The F 900 GS houses an 895 cc two-cylinder in-line engine. It is capable of generating to deliver 105 hp at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It can achieve a top speed of over 200 km/h.
Features:
The bike features a 6.5-inch display, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), cornering-optimized BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, and dynamic brake light. Standard features also include Gear Shift Assistant Pro, Keyless Ride, RDC (tyre pressure control), 12-volt and USB power sockets, and two riding modes: “Rain” and “Road.”
New BMW R 1300 GS
Powertrain and Performance:
The R 1300 GS houses a 1300 cc two-cylinder boxer engine. The bike can produce 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Its gearbox is positioned beneath the engine for improved performance.
Features:
This model includes advanced lighting with Matrix LED headlights, daytime running lights, electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), and four riding modes (Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro). It also features a 6.5-inch TFT display, BMW Motorrad multi-controller, Fully Integral ABS Pro, and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC).
New BMW S 1000 XR
Powertrain and Performance:
The S 1000 XR features a 999 cc in-line four-cylinder engine that generates 170 hp at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm. It can exceed speeds of 250 km/h, promising an exhilarating ride.
Features:
This motorcycle offers four riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Dynamic Pro), and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). It also comes with Wheelie Control, ABS Pro, Hill Start Control Pro, BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA Pro, and Shift Assist Pro. It also includes advanced lighting functions with LED indicators, adaptive cornering lights, LED auxiliary lights, and Headlight Pro DRL (Daytime Riding Light).
