In the world of MotoGP, where skill, speed, and precision are paramount, Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia’s podium at the San Marino Grand Prix over the weekend stands out as a shining example of determination and talent. The Grand Prix of San Marino and the Riviera di Rimini held at the iconic Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, is not only a race but a celebration of Italian motorsport culture, making Pecco’s podium on home soil all the more special.

Not to mention, the Italian bounced back from his injury to shine bright on the podium, showing masterclass on track throughout the weekend.

His heroic performance at the 12th round of the MotoGP World Championship sent the crowd cheering. The decibels of the crowd increased by the second after he breezed past the chequered flag, trailing behind Ducati teammates Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.

The race was a thrilling spectacle from the very start. Pecco, riding for the Ducati factory team, was in top form, expertly manoeuvring his powerful Ducati Desmosedici through the challenging twists and turns of the Misano circuit.

Pecco demonstrated not only his raw speed but also his ability to make calculated decisions under pressure.

“It was a tough weekend, but we succeeded in achieving our goal, which was to finish in the top-5 in both races. One week ago, we were struggling. It was difficult to consider a race weekend like this, so this was the maximum we could do. I tried to stay with Martin for as long as possible, but my leg. The fact that I was riding only with my arms and the front tyre pressure didn’t allow me to do it.

When it started to be too difficult, I had to leave a bit of a gap to Bezzecchi. I just tried to breathe a bit and have a bonus of performance in the last two or three laps so as not to give a chance to Pedrosa to overtake me. But I’m incredibly happy and proud of the work we did. I only lost 14 points instead of a possible 37. Now we go to India for a race where physically I will be in better shape. We will try and score more points for the championship.”

The 2023 MotoGP World Champion will resume again at the paddocks of the Grand Prix of India in two weeks.
