Check out the latest updates for the BMW F 850 GS Motorcycle!

BMW Motorrad is busy finalising the preparations on the BMW F 850 GS Motorcycles that will be shipped to New Zealand for the International GS Trophy Oceania in February 2020. A total of 140 bikes will be shipped upon the shipping date.

The event requires 140 motorcycles to be ready on board. This is a significant increase on the 114 BMW R 1200 GS Rallye machines for the 2018 edition of Central Asia.

On about the BMW F 850 GS bikes, BMW Motorrad was keen on building a bespoke edition for 2020. The bike consists of a unique combination of specification and colours that are never seen before in any showrooms. It comes under the middle-class bikes. This is the same as its predecessor F 800 GS that excelled in the International GS Trophies in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

The F 850 GS was launched at the Milan Show EICMA for the 2018 model year. It featured a new design that was far different from the F 800 GS. It came with a new parallel twin-cylinder engine with a 90-degree crank offset with a 270/450-degree firing order. Its exterior is held by a new monocoque bridge-design frame alongside an all new chassis design. The fuel tank now sits over the engine. It has a lower seat height and bodywork. This enhances the protection of the rider but still allows for maximum movement for off-road riding.

The F 850 GS also has the latest electronic features, such as the Enduro Pro mode, Dynamic Traction Control DTC, Dynamic ESA, ABS Pro. Riders are able to access these through the new 6.5 inch TFT screen that comes with BMW Motorrad Connectivity.

The bike has a one-off colour scheme with exquisite details. It has a black and yellow hue with International GS Trophy graphics. BMW Motorrad offers its customers a wide range of options and accessories to customise their GS motorcycles according to their own preferences.
