Gabriel Fabio Vuono of 52 Racing Team has been crowned the 2026 Aprilia RS 457 Trophy champion after an intense five-round season that went down to the final round at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
The second edition of the Aprilia RS 457 Trophy once again delivered a closely contested championship, with the title remaining undecided until the final race of the season.
Vuono entered the Misano finale as the championship leader and continued his strong qualifying form by securing pole position, his fifth of the season.
The 52 Racing Team rider finished the 10-lap race in second place but was later handed a one-place penalty for exceeding track limits. The penalty dropped him to third, but the points were enough for Vuono to secure the championship.
His 2026 campaign was marked by remarkable consistency. Vuono claimed all five pole positions and finished on the podium in every race, taking four victories and one third-place finish across the season.
Andrea Benvenuti finished second in the overall championship standings after collecting four podium finishes across the five rounds. Sebastiano Settimio Favaroni completed the top three, with his runner-up finish at Mugello marking his best result of the season.

With 25 riders on the grid for the second edition, the Aprilia RS 457 Trophy continues to serve as an entry point for young riders looking to progress into circuit racing.
The one-make championship is designed around the Aprilia RS 457, providing riders with a performance-focused motorcycle while offering a more accessible pathway from smaller-capacity bikes to major circuits and professional racing environments.
Following the conclusion of the 2026 season at Misano, Aprilia said the Trophy continues to support its long-standing focus on developing young racing talent and preparing the next generation of riders.
“This championship couldn’t have ended any better,” said Vuono. “We didn’t lose a single battle, and we practically finished first in every race, with four wins out of five, which is an exceptional result.
“We also set all the track records. I had a lot of fun throughout the year, and we gained a lot of new experience. I really enjoyed the final round at Misano, we had a great battle in a group of around five riders.”
Vuono also thanked Aprilia, his sponsors, family, mother and Giacomo Luminari, the team manager at 52 Racing Team, for their support throughout the season.
The 2026 season marks another step forward for the Aprilia RS 457 Trophy as the championship continues to provide young riders with a competitive platform to develop their skills and gain experience in professional-level circuit racing.
