The Nürburgring is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027, and BMW Motorrad is marking the historic milestone with three exclusive limited-edition motorcycles. The manufacturer has revealed the BMW M 1000 RR, BMW M 1000 R and BMW M 1000 XR “100 Jahre Nürburgring” editions, with production capped at just 100 units of each model worldwide.
Created as a tribute to one of the world’s most famous race circuits, the special editions combine BMW Motorrad’s high-performance engineering with unique styling elements inspired by the legendary Nordschleife.
A tribute to 100 years of Nürburgring
The three anniversary models are based on their respective production M motorcycles but receive a distinctive appearance that celebrates the Nürburgring’s centenary.
Each motorcycle is finished in an exclusive Nürburgring Green paint scheme, complemented by bespoke anniversary graphics. These include the outline of the iconic Nordschleife circuit, “Nürburgring since 1927” lettering and the official “100 Years” anniversary logo.
The Nürburgring has shared a long history with BMW Motorrad since the circuit first opened in 1927. In the same year, BMW Motorrad also claimed its first victory at the famous German track, making the anniversary editions a fitting tribute to the brand’s racing heritage.
Exclusive styling and premium M equipment
BMW Motorrad has equipped all three models with a range of exclusive features that distinguish them from the standard M motorcycles.
The fuel tank carries the Nürburgring circuit silhouette, while the airbox cover features the anniversary logo alongside an individual “one of 100” identification marking. Carbon-fibre wheels receive Nürburgring Green accent stripes, complemented by a black rear swingarm and rear frame for a more aggressive appearance.
The motorcycles also feature an Alcantara-style seat embroidered with “100” anniversary markings, adding another unique touch to the limited-edition models.
As standard, all three motorcycles are fitted with the M Track Package, carbon wheels and Nürburgring-specific detailing. Owners of the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R will also receive an M Cover Kit, while every anniversary model comes with an exclusive motorcycle mat featuring the “100 Jahre Nürburgring” logo and a rear-wheel paddock stand.
Three M motorcycles with different personalities
Although they share the same anniversary theme, each motorcycle continues to serve a different purpose within BMW Motorrad’s M lineup.
The BMW M 1000 RR remains the most track-focused machine of the trio. Its full-fairing superbike design combines advanced aerodynamics, lightweight construction and race-developed chassis technology to maximise circuit performance.
The BMW M 1000 R, meanwhile, brings superbike performance into the naked-bike segment. It offers the same high-performance character but with a more upright riding position, making it better suited for everyday road riding while retaining impressive performance capabilities.
Completing the range is the BMW M 1000 XR, which blends superbike-inspired performance with long-distance comfort. Designed as a high-performance crossover motorcycle, it delivers excellent high-speed stability alongside touring ergonomics and everyday versatility. Together, the three motorcycles reflect BMW Motorrad’s philosophy of “Born on the Racetrack. Made for the Streets.”
Celebrating one of the world’s most demanding race circuits
The Nürburgring Nordschleife remains one of the most respected proving grounds in the automotive and motorcycle industry. Stretching 20.8 kilometres, the circuit features 73 corners and dramatic elevation changes that challenge every aspect of a motorcycle’s performance.
Its demanding layout has made it an ideal testing environment for chassis development, engine performance, braking systems and aerodynamic improvements, helping manufacturers like BMW Motorrad refine their production motorcycles.
The Nürburgring’s century-long legacy continues to influence the development of high-performance machines, making these anniversary editions a fitting celebration of both the circuit’s history and BMW Motorrad’s longstanding connection with it.

BMW Motorrad has confirmed that production of the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR “100 Jahre Nürburgring” editions will be limited to 100 units each worldwide.
