MotoGP is bringing its 2026 season launch out of the paddock and into the city and it has chosen Kuala Lumpur as the stage.

On February 7, 2026, the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship will turn the KLCC district into a live MotoGP showcase, marking the first time the series has launched a season with a large-scale public event in the middle of a major global capital.

Instead of a closed-door unveiling, MotoGP will open its doors to fans with a week-long celebration in the heart of the city. From February 2 to 7, a dedicated MotoGP Fan Zone will operate inside Suria KLCC, offering interactive displays, race bikes, team content, and hands-on experiences designed to immerse fans in the world of MotoGP beyond the racetrack.

The centrepiece of the week arrives on Saturday evening, when the spotlight shifts outdoors beneath the Petronas Twin Towers. The area around KLCC will host a Pit Box-style exhibition of the 2026 bikes before the launch transitions into a full-scale evening show featuring a city ride-through, rider appearances on the main stage, and live entertainment.

The event runs from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM and presents itself as a festival rather than a traditional motorsport launch, blending racing, urban culture, and live performance into one high-energy showcase.

MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta said MotoGP chose Kuala Lumpur for its energy, diversity, and strong connection to motorsport across Southeast Asia.

“This city captures the same dynamism that defines MotoGP,” he said. “We want this launch to feel accessible, exciting, and shared with the fans, and Kuala Lumpur offers the perfect environment for that.”

Further details, including the musical line-up and local guest appearances, will be announced closer to the event. With thousands of fans expected to attend across the week, the 2026 MotoGP launch is shaping up not just as a season opener, but as a major public celebration of motorsport in Southeast Asia.
