For riders who believe that every throttle twist tells a story, Ipone Malaysia has just raised the bar. At a vibrant, Japanese-inspired launch event in Kuala Lumpur, Specialty Lubricants Trading Sdn Bhd officially introduced Ipone’s newly upgraded motorcycle engine oil range, blending performance engineering with bold identity and lifestyle expression.
More than just a product launch, the evening celebrated what Ipone stands for: individuality, courage, and passion on two wheels. Adding weight to the occasion, Ipone Malaysia also announced that the full product range has achieved SIRIM certification. This reinforces its commitment to quality, reliability, and rider safety in Malaysia.
Engine Protection, Taken to the Next Level
Behind the striking new look lies serious technology. Ipone’s upgraded formulations now feature 100% PAO and ester base oils. It uses premium Group 4 and Group 5 base stocks, the highest grades available in modern lubricants.
By combining ester technology with these advanced base oils, Ipone delivers:
- Stronger engine protection
- Maximum power delivery
- Higher thermal stability
- Improved efficiency under extreme riding conditions
From daily commuters to weekend canyon riders and full-on track enthusiasts, the new range is engineered for riders who push their machines and themselves further every ride.

From Yellow to Black Belt: Oils That Match Your Riding Journey
Drawing inspiration from Japanese judo belts, Ipone’s new packaging turns engine oil selection into a visual journey of skill, progression, and mastery. The bold, manga-inspired design injects personality into every bottle while reflecting Ipone’s Japanese-influenced DNA.
The lineup includes:
- Shogun (Black Belt) – The top tier for track days and high-performance street riding
- Samourai & Katana (Blue Belt) – Fully synthetic oils for riders who demand sharp throttle response and durability
- R4000 (Green Belt) & 10.4 (Orange Belt) – Semi-synthetic oils for commuting, touring, and mixed riding
- M4 (Yellow Belt) – Reliable mineral oil for compatible bikes and everyday workshop use
Every colour represents not just performance levels, but a rider’s growth. Wherever you are on your journey, Ipone meets you there.

“Ride Dengan Attitude”: More Than a Slogan
At the heart of Ipone’s identity is one powerful message: Ride dengan Attitude. It’s about riding with freedom, authenticity, and purpose. As Ipone defines it, every corner represents a choice, every ride becomes a reflection of who you are.
Ravi Shankar, Country General Manager of Specialty Lubricants Trading (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, described the launch as the start of a bold new chapter for the brand in Malaysia. With nationwide distribution now supported by SLT and new partner MKA Group, Ipone riders can expect stronger availability, better service support, and closer engagement with the riding community.
Built on Trust, Certified for the Road
Yoann Koppe, Chief Business Officer at Motul Group Asia Pacific, highlighted that Ipone’s SIRIM certification marks a critical milestone in the brand’s localisation journey.
Built on five core values (Passion, Freedom, Audacity, Premium, and Irreverence), Ipone is aimed at riders who dare to express themselves, push their limits, and expect more from their machines. The certification strengthens trust among Malaysian riders and confirms the country as a key growth market for the brand.

A Night Where Culture, Motorcycles, and Art Collided
The launch event brought together more than 160 guests, including representatives from Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), dealers, media, influencers, and the Ipone–MKA team. Styled around Japanese manga culture to mirror the new packaging, the venue came alive with live caricature sketches, interactive photo walls, DJ performances, and Japanese street-food stalls.
Zubir bin Hamsa from KPDN shared his experience visiting Ipone’s headquarters in France alongside SIRIM representatives, where he witnessed firsthand the brand’s audit and quality processes — and met Ipone CEO Sébastien Pernel.
A Brand for Riders Who Want Something Different
Founded in 1985, Ipone is named after the judo term “ippon”, the decisive move that guarantees victory. Today, the French brand stands out globally with its bold white bottles, irreverent messaging, and 100% focus on motorcycles.
Blending French engineering with Japanese discipline and pop-culture energy, Ipone is positioned as a premium alternative for riders who want more than just another mainstream oil brand. It’s for those who live for the ride and want their machines to reflect that same spirit.
