This year’s Merdeka celebrations were once again filled with the roaring sound of motorcycles, as iMotorbike organised its second official Merdeka Ride in conjunction with Malaysia’s 68th National Independence Day. A total of 45 riders joined the convoy, making the ride a memorable celebration of unity, community, and the spirit of freedom on two wheels.
The convoy, guided by experienced marshals, set out for a scenic route to Port Dickson, with meaningful stops at The Lukut Fort and Museum and the charming village of Kampung Siliau, Rantau, Negeri Sembilan, before making their way back to the city.
Gathering at Glenmarie
The day began bright and early at the iMotorbike showroom in Glenmarie, which served as the main RV point for all participants. Riders started rolling in as early as 7:30AM, filling the atmosphere with excitement as different bikes lined up, from daily commuters to bigger touring machines.
Before the official flag-off, riders were given a warm welcome by iMotorbike’s VP of Commercial, Andy Teh, who shared a safety briefing and highlighted the meaning of celebrating Merdeka together as a community. Joining him was Faris (@farisunoori_motovlog), who also gave a talk to the participants. At exactly 8:40AM, the convoy was flagged off, with the sound of engines symbolizing the start of a day filled with history, friendship, and Malaysian spirit.
Refueling and Reuniting
The first regroup stop was at Shell NKVE, where some participants topped up their tanks while others waited for fellow riders to join in. It was here that the convoy grew larger, and the sense of brotherhood and camaraderie became even stronger as riders exchanged greetings and shared their excitement for the journey ahead.
Exploring Lukut Fort and Museum
By around 9:20AM, the convoy made its way smoothly to Port Dickson’s Lukut Fort and Museum, a site steeped in history. Riders took time to explore the fort, learning about the region’s past and appreciating how the location ties into Malaysia’s heritage. It was a fitting stop for Merdeka, reminding everyone of the struggles and resilience that shaped the nation.
A Warm Welcome in Kampung Siliau
From Lukut, the convoy continued towards Kampung Siliau, a small town in Rantau, Negeri Sembilan. Here, the riders were welcomed by the local villagers at Masjid Kariah Kg Siliau. The atmosphere was festive, children and families gathered around, smiling and waving as the bikes rolled in. Many took the chance to snap photos with the riders and their motorcycles, making the stop a lively and heartwarming experience.
The villagers, who had been preparing since early morning, treated the riders to a delicious traditional lunch. The spread was generous, and the ambience reflected true Malaysian hospitality, with laughter and conversations flowing freely over shared food.
Faith, Fun, and Fellowship
After Zuhur prayers at the mosque, the program continued with a light-hearted quiz session organized by iMotorbike. Riders took part in answering questions and stood a chance to win exciting prizes including gloves, phone holders, and the ultimate giveaway, a KYT TT-Course full-face helmet. The friendly competition brought more joy and excitement, strengthening the bonds between participants.
Wrapping Up the Ride
The event concluded with a group photo session, capturing the smiles, bikes, and the patriotic spirit of Merdeka. As the riders prepared to head back home, there was a shared sense of pride, not only in celebrating Malaysia’s independence but also in being part of a close-knit motorcycle community.
The iMotorbike Merdeka Ride 2025 was more than just a journey on the road. It was a reminder of what makes Malaysia special: unity in diversity, hospitality that warms the heart, and the freedom to ride together as one.
With the positive reception and growing interest from the riding community, iMotorbike has promised more rides and community events in the future. Riders can look forward to more opportunities to hit the road together, explore new places, and celebrate the joy of motorcycling.
