British stunt rider Jonny Davies has broken a new world record, hitting a top speed of 257 km/h while being dragged by a Supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX at Elvington Airfield on Sunday, August 18.
The two-time British stunt champion and now three-time Guinness World Record holder achieved this feat during the Ultimate Supercar event in York.
In the high-adrenaline stunt, riders are equipped with titanium ski shoes, gripping the rear of the motorcycle as it accelerates. Once the top speed is reached, the rider leaps off and switches to a secondary thumb throttle to maintain control.
Previously, Davies set records for the fastest handlebar wheelie in 2020 at 175 km/h and for completing the most doughnut spins around a motorcycle performing a wheelie at The British Motor Show in 2022.
After setting this latest milestone, Davies expressed his excitement, telling the BBC, “It felt so fast my left foot was airborne. I’m over the moon and grateful for everyone’s support.” He added, “I thought, ‘I hope that has broken the record because I don’t want to do that again.’”
