Pedro Acosta, the 19-year-old prodigy, has left an indelible mark with his stellar performance during the recent pre-season tests at the Sepang International Circuit.

Marc Marquez, a six-time MotoGP world champion, holds firm belief in Acosta’s potential to shake up the competition this season. The young KTM rider showcased remarkable prowess by clinching the second-fastest time on the opening day of official testing, signaling his arrival as a force to be reckoned with.

Marquez, renowned for his astute judgment of talent, sees Acosta as a formidable contender capable of challenging established names like Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia. Transitioning from Moto2, where he clinched the world championship, Acosta has seamlessly adapted to the premier class aboard the RC16.

“His (Acosta’s) pace throughout this season will be formidable, matching the caliber of MotoGP stalwarts. When he arrived for the pre-season tests, he led the sessions. I am confident he will evolve into an exceptional rider,” Marquez expressed.

Despite encountering setbacks, such as minor crashes during testing, Acosta’s resilience and innate talent shine through. Marquez highlights Acosta’s exceptional mentality and racing aptitude, emphasizing his potential to vie for MotoGP glory sooner rather than later.

“While setbacks are inevitable, they serve as valuable learning experiences for him. Acosta possesses the mindset and talent necessary to excel in MotoGP. Perhaps it may take some time, or perhaps he could swiftly ascend to claim the MotoGP crown,” Marquez added.

With Acosta’s meteoric rise and Marquez’s endorsement, anticipation mounts for an electrifying MotoGP season, where the young Spaniard promises to challenge the status quo and carve his name among the sport’s elite.
