National rider Nazirul Izzat Bahauddin secured his first victory on the Asian stage, dominating the Underbone (UB) 150cc race at the 2023 Asia Road Racing Championship’s finale in Buriram.
The 23-year-old rider faced machine challenges, resulting in an abrupt power loss and a 16th-place finish. Fortunately, his closest competitor, Shafiq Rasol from ONEXOX TKKR Racing, only secured third place. This allowed Nazirul to claim the UB150cc championship title in Thailand.
“I thank Allah for blessing me on this day. Yet, I feel sadness for not celebrating with my late father, my pillar of support,” expressed Nazirul.
During the race, issues with Nazirul’s machine arose in the final lap while he held a position in the top four. “Perhaps destiny didn’t intend for me to stand on the podium today.
This victory is a gift from Allah, and I thank my mother, family, and the hardworking team,” he added.
Nazirul’s father, Muhammad Bahauddin Hadzir, passed away in March, providing unwavering support throughout his racing career since age 13.
Nazirul’s emotional journey to success showcases his resilience and dedication. On the podium, he honors his late father and acknowledges continuous support from family, team, and friends in championing his quest for glory.
