All-new Ducati Monster 821 is on the way – But without steel trellis frame?

All-new Ducati Monster 821 is on the way – But without steel trellis frame?

According to the latest rumours, an all-new  Ducati Monster 821 is on the way! But this time, Ducati might ditch the trellis frame for a lighter alloy frame.

Earlier yesterday, we gave some insights on the upcoming Ducati Multistrada V4. Well, for today we have a bunch of details on the upcoming Ducati Monster 821. According to sources, the Multistrada V4 and the Ducati Monster 821 would most likely make their world debut during the 2021 Ducati World Premiere scheduled for October. In case you haven’t heard about the upcoming Multistrada V4 and want to know more information about it, check it out here.

The Non-Trellis Monster

So let’s dive into this brand new Ducati Monster leak. According to sources, this upcoming Ducati Monster was actually spotted in Germany earlier this year with an all-new alloy frame. – Yep, no trellis frame! However, we couldn’t get a clear look at the bike. Well, it all changes with this latest rendering that has been circulating the internet. Thanks to this latest leak, the design sketch showcases the upcoming Monster in detail. Looking at the sketch, the first thing that surprises us is the alloy frame. It looks like Ducati might ditch the steel trellis frame for an all-new alloy frame. If everything goes according to this leak, the upcoming Ducati monster would be the first Monster to feature an alloy frame (non-trellis). Speaking of the new frame, there are a few benefits that come with it. One, it keeps the overall look of the bike clean and aggressive. Secondly, as it is lighter than the steel trellis frame, it would have obvious performance benefits.

As for additional details on the powertrain, suspension and braking, we would have to wait for Ducati to pull the cover off this bike. Judging from the latest leak, it looks like Ducati could be aiming for the competitive middleweight market to go head to head with KTM’s 790 Duke, Triumph’s Street Triple and Yamaha’s MT-09.
