The Singapore traffic police will be patrolling with new BMW bikes.
Singapore’s team of traffic police will be getting new riders next year as they will be hitting the streets with a new fleet of BMW motorcycles.
According to The Straits Times on Thursday, the bikes are a part of a vehicle replacement programme for its older Yamaha Diversion XJ900P bikes. Officers will be having much better and safer equipment to carry out their jobs. This will increase the effectiveness of the Singapore traffic police team.
The police noted that the bikes will be ready for patrol duties next April. Sources have claimed that the new model of bikes is the BMW 2019 R1250RT bikes. However, this is yet to be confirmed. The police and BMW Motorrad Singapore have declined to confirm the model.
Information regarding the bikes such as cost or amount is scarce due to operational reasons. Stay tuned for more updates.
