The Ducati factory in Bologna has already rolled out the first units of the new Diavel 1260 which the Italian brand created for 2019, and the bikes are already on their way to meet new owners. The first Diavel 1260 left the assembly line on January 21, and like what happens with all the new models, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali and production manager Silvano Fini were the ones who welcomed the very first Diavel 1260 with a toast and some speeches.
Shown for the first time in 2010, the Diavel broke with everything we thought Ducati was able to do, mainly sportbikes and nakeds. But the powercruiser fast became one of the most important models on the Ducati range, and throughout the years the Italian brand has invested a lot on the Diavel, updating and creating special versions.
For 2019, the Diavel will feature a new twin-cylinder engine, the Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing), for increased engine performance and becoming even more smoother at low revs.
There’s also a new frame, designed at helping the high-spec suspensions to allow the rider to explore the Diavel even on the most demanding roads and riding conditions, while the electronics package includes every option a sophisticated powercruiser needs: riding modes, cornering ABS or adjustable traction control.
Also available on the sportier variant Diavel S, with better chassis specs, the powercruiser will arrive to Ducati dealers in Europe by mid-February, while other markets will need to wait a little more to get the new Diavel 1260.
