Xiaomi Super Soco CU provides urban mobility without polution!

It was only a matter of time until Xiaomi, the popular Chinese brand for smartphones, televisions and other electronic devices, would enter the urban mobility world. Together with Soco, Xiaomi announced the new electric scooter called Super Soco CU.

This partnership will allow Xiaomi to launch a scooter which not only is zero emissions, but also promises to bring a host of interesting features at a low price.

The Super Soco CU was originally developed by Soco, a start-up company born in Shanghai in 2015, and it’s the latest model of their range to reach the global market. This time though, Soco had the help of Xiaomi in designing and manufacturing the electric scooter.

The scooter has an electric battery that is removable and gets full charge after 7 hours plugged in. With only 10 kg in weight, the battery can be easily removed and brought home by the owner of the Super Soco CU, making it easier to recharge it during the night.

From this battery Xiaomi promises that the rider will be able to ride for up to 120 km, while the battery pack life is of 600 cycle charges.

Although the Super Soco CU shows a rather simplistic design, in fact this electric scooter has very cool features: brake discs in both wheels, with regenerative braking system to prolong the battery range, futuristic design and full LED lights, fully digital instrument panel and cruise-control is also standard feature.

But one of the most interesting feature is its frontal camera.

Xiaomi installed at the front of the Super Soco CU a camera with 138 degrees’ angle. This camera is FullHD, and not only allows the rider to take photos of the ride and share them using the specific app, but in case of an accident the camera has a special safety mode that records all that happened and also the G forces from the impact.

The Xiaomi Super Soco CU is expected to arrive at the Chinese market in the end of May, and three versions are already revealed: Standard (range of 80 km), Comfort (range of 100 km) and Cool Play (range of 120 km).

We don’t have yet the prices or availability of this electric scooter for Malaysian market.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
